The New Year brings about a ton of new opportunities – 365 of them, actually. Our Houston apartments downtown keep you central to so many fun things to see and do, so we encourage you to explore this great city we live in. We understand it’s hard to know where to start, so we’ve created a quick starting point for you – leave us a comment if there are some must-visits that we missed!

5 Houston Things to Check Out in 2020:

Houston Astros Game: Of course, we have to mention our next-door neighbors, the Houston Astros. Our residents have the convenience and joy of walking across the street to games, so it’s easy to be a big Astros fan. The season officially starts at home in Houston on March 26th against the Angels, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.

Chevron Houston Marathon: This annual coveted marathon takes place January 19th. Although it’s too late to sign up (it fills up fast here in Houston!), it’s a great event to be a spectator at, and it runs right in front of our downtown Houston apartment. This annual 26.2, 13.1 and 3.1-mile run begins and ends at Downtown’s George R. Brown Convention Center has steadily grown to attract more than 20,000 entrants from around the world and 200,000 spectators. Fun fact: the first Houston Marathon was in 1972 with 113 runners and about twice as many spectators. We encourage you to join in on the fun – funny signs are always welcome!

Guard and Grace: One of the hottest new restaurants in Houston is located just a few minutes from our Houston luxury apartments at One Allen Center. Go for lunch or dinner or catch their Houston Social Hour, which happens Monday – Friday from 3 – 6 p.m offering charcuterie boards, dips, sushi, oysters and other light bites paired with wine, cocktails and a large selection of beers.

Bayou City Art Festival: Another fun event that takes place in Houston over the weekend of March 27 – 29, 2020 is one to add to your calendar now! The Bayou City Art Festival at Memorial Park kicks off spring as Houston’s premier outdoor fine arts event with 300+ national artists working in 19 artistic media are juried and invited to show and sell their art at this great event. Aside from the amazing art, there will be entertainment, food vendors, food trucks and much more.

Bravery Chef Hall: This hotspot graced Houston’s presence in July of 2019, but if you still haven’t been, it’s time to make it a priority in 2020! Located near our downtown Houston apartments, this new food hall has five new eateries and three bars all under one roof - talk about convenient! Bravery Chef Hall is located directly across from Market Square Park in downtown Houston.
